You Won't Need My Hand

I remember little fingers
wrapped around my hand.
You were learning how to walk,
and I was helping you to stand.
There were nights I barely slept,
and days I needed rest.
But when you put your arms around me,
I knew how much I was blessed.
One day you won't need my hand.
You'll find your own way through this life.
And I'll be standing here so proud,
with tears I cannot hide.
