Tenderness Wears No Armor

You walked right in from the pouring rain.
Shook off the cold and smiled
Away the pain.
You tossed your keys by the open door,
Like you lived in this
House for years or more.
You asked for a drink to warm your bones.
I poured out my secrets,
Left my safety zones.
You touched my hand,
Said with a sigh,
We've been lonely too long,
Just you and I."
So please, don't break my
fragile heart.
